Second part of the fantastic Batman: Arkham Asylum developed by Rocksteady, which continues with the atmosphere of the original game, taking players to Arkham City, the new “home” of the thugs, gangsters and other criminal minds of Gotham City.
A year and a half have passed since the events of Arkham Asylum. Its former warden, Quincy Sharp (holder of a great secret in the first game revealed only by finding the 24 Arkham Chronicles), has earned the respect and gratitude of Gotham's citizens for his "wise handling" of the situation during the "Joker crisis". This has led him to fulfill his desire to be mayor of the city. After declaring as his first official measure that both the asylum and Black Gate prison are not sufficient to house Gotham's vast and growing scum, Sharp acquires part of the city's suburbs, demolishing them to build Arkham City, a fortified enclosure defended by a group of mercenaries called "Tyger". The only rule of the place is the following: "do not try to escape", as it is punishable by death. Led by Hugo Strange (a scientist and one of Batman's earliest recurring enemies in the comics, first appearing in 1940), within the walls of Arkham City, inmates are free to run wild as they please.
Two-Face is sent to this “prison without barriers.” Knowing that he must earn the respect and fear of the prisoners, he decides to capture Catwoman and publicly execute her, convinced that this action will increase his power in the Gotham underworld. Alfred, Bruce Wayne’s faithful butler, informs him of the situation. And this is where the sequel begins, with Batman heading to the place within Arkham City where Catwoman is about to be executed by Two-Face and his coin.
The story for this sequel will once again be written by Paul Dini, the author of B: A/A and a renowned veteran writer of many of the character's adventures (an example would be the award-winning Batman: The Animated Series).
With “Batman: Arkham Asylum” we uncover all the secrets of the famous psychiatric hospital located on the outskirts of Gotham City. With 'Batman: Arkham City' the chaos will move to the streets and we will have to get back into the skin of the Dark Knight to face some of his worst enemies.
