Celebrate Pokémon's 20th Anniversary year with two exciting new Pokémon games: Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon!
In Pokémon Sun and Moon, you will explore the beautiful Alola Region with the help of the laidback Professor Kukui and his mysterious assistant Lillie. This chain of four exotic islands is home to many never-before-seen Pokémon's, including three you can choose from as you start your adventure:
- Rowlet - This Grass Quill Pokémon combines the best of the Grass and Flying types into one dapper little package! Rowlet can silently sneak up on its opponents from the air, then surprise them with powerful kicks. It can also use its Leafage attack from the start, striking opponents with razor sharp leaves. And just like an owl, Rowlet can twist its neck nearly 180 degrees and see in the dark!
- Litten - Holy flaming hairballs! This Fire Cat Pokémon keeps its cool demeanor despite its fiery passions. It knows the Ember attack from the start, firing small flames at its opponents. But that is only the beginning! With intensely flammable fur, Litten can groom itself by licking its fur and then use it as fuel for fireball attacks - and when it's time to shed, Litten can burn up its old fur in a glorious blaze!
- Popplio - This Sea Lion Pokémon is playful yet hardworking, and thoroughly at home in water - swimming faster than 25 mph! Popplio is hardly when on land - from the start it knows the Water Gun attack, which fires a strong jet of water at an opponent. It also has worked hard to perfect its water balloon skills - Popplio can perform acrobatic leaps and stunts by bouncing off the balloons, or use them directly against an opponent.
Legendary Pokémon
Two mysterious new Legendary Pokémon will hold a vital key to your adventures in Pokémon Sun and Pokémon Moon - though you'll only catch one in each game!
- New to Pokémon Sun: Solgaleo
This Sunne Pokémon combines the Psychic and Steel types to maximum effect! Solgaleo has been honored since ancient times as an emissary of the sun. Referred to as "the beast that devours the sun," Solgaleo's body can hold vast amounts of energy and shines when active - and with its brilliant flowing man it resembles the sun itself! Its signature move is Sunsteel Strike, an attack with the force of a meteor that charges at the target - regardless of their Ability! Its own Ability, Full Metal Body, has never been seen before with any previous Pokémon. With Full Metal Body, a Pokémon's stats will be impervious to the effects of its opponent's moves or Ability! - New to Pokémon Moon: Lunala
This Moone Pokemon, a Psychic/Ghost type, has been honored since ancient times as an emissary of the moon. Referred to as "the beast that calls the moon," Lunala absorbs light and converts it into energy by spreading its glittering crescent wings - resembling a clear night sky! Lunala's Ability is Shadow Shield - a new Ability that no previous Pokémon has had! Shadow Shield allows a Pokémon to sustain less damage from an attack if the Pokémon had full HP to start with. Lunala's signature attack, Moongeist Beam, charges a powerful beam of light to strike a target, regardless of the target's Ability!
